This cup comes from Longquan, where the craft has been passed down for a thousand years. It is made under the direction of Ye Ming, a master whose hands carry the weight of tradition. The glaze is Fenqing — the colour of a pale dawn sky, soft as morning mist, smooth as jade to the touch. It has no crackle. Just pure, quiet clarity.

The cup is shaped like a tulip just beginning to open — the lip slightly closed, the body round and full, tapering to a small, steady foot. It fits perfectly in the palm of your hand.

On the cup’s surface, two jellyfish are carved into the clay — one large, one small. The carving is fine and delicate. The large jellyfish drifts gracefully; the smaller one follows gently beside. Their tentacles stretch out like silk threads, swaying softly as if in a gentle current, floating freely in the deep sea. The Fenqing glaze is clear and luminous, like seawater itself — translucent, alive. Light moves across the cup, and the jellyfish seem to move with it, swimming slowly, tentacles drifting with the waves.

Pour tea into the cup, and the jellyfish appear and disappear beneath the liquor, as if they have swam from the deep sea into your cup, dancing with the tea. In the palm of your hand, you hold a quiet ocean — and a small, living creature, still moving.
