Title
Dragon & Phoenix Combs
Carved by hand by Mr Li Yongqiang, inheritor of intangible cultural heritage. Taking the ancient meaning of “dragon and phoenix bring good fortune,” these combs carry blessing in everyday ritual.
Material
Selected boxwood — fine-grained, gentle, ordered in its texture. Boxwood has always been the wood for combs — calm in nature, warm to the touch, fragrant with time, kind to hair and skin.
Cultural Meaning
Dragon is yang, phoenix is yin. Together, they mean harmony — of heaven and earth, of two people. These combs are more than hair tools. They are ritual objects — for weddings, for family keeping, for gifts between generations. They carry the blessing: “joined in heart, lucky for life.”
Craft & Use
Carved entirely by hand — the dragon’s scales, the phoenix’s feathers, every line alive. Each comb passes through dozens of steps.
The teeth are rounded, smooth — gentle on the scalp, kind to the hair, good for waking the body’s energy.
Use them daily — for the hair, for the head, for the quiet ritual of caring for yourself.
Keep them as gifts, as treasures, as things to pass on.
The curve fits the palm — comfortable, natural, easy to hold.
