This cup comes from the Gong Family Kiln in Longquan, where the craft has been passed down through five generations. The glaze is fenqing — the colour of a pale dawn sky — even and luminous. It is the colour of sky after rain: when clouds part, the heavens reveal a clear, pale blue. The Gong family has pursued this shade for a hundred years. The glaze is thick but not muddy, clear as jade, smooth as silk to the touch.

Look closer. A chi dragon — one of the nine sons of the dragon in ancient myth — rises along the cup wall, its head lifted, its body strong and graceful. The chi dragon carries no horns but carries many wishes. It is a symbol of good fortune, protection, and prosperity. The high, straight foot stands firm, as if climbing to look far ahead — a sign of rising step by step, of ambition held high.

Together, the dragon and the high foot speak of a quiet nobility: the heart that dares to see far, and the blessing that keeps it safe.

Pour tea and the cup wakes. The liquor reflects on the glaze, and the dragon seems to swim through a landscape of celadon and mist. In the palm of your hand, elegance unfolds — one cup, one moment, quietly yours.
